Hi, I’m Maxine
_________
I make my way in this world as a
voice-over artist, author, copywriter and
freelance business writer.
I’m so glad you’re here and I’m looking forward to helping you on your entrepreneurial journey with a leg up from my experience. I’ve been an entrepreneur (modeling, acting, writing, voice-overs) for about 20 years. So I know a thing or two about how to make this work.
Read on to learn what my weekly newsletter, The Creative Business Advisor is all about and how I can help you.
01 – Client Relationships
One of the most important aspects of your business is building great, on-going relationships with your customers and clients. Long-term relationships with awesome clients will give your business staying and growing power. Which will result in repeat business and, in turn, create more referrals and more success!
It’s the magic combination of qualifying the best clients for your business, becoming a highly valued member of their creative team and treating them like GOLD, then constantly working on your skills and improving your business practices to serve them even better. That’s the magic formula to prosperous, long-term client relationships! Building great client relationships is a regular focus of The Creative Business Advisor newsletter.
02 – Marketing
Marketing your business on a consistent basis is what gives you real staying power. But what exactly is marketing? Here’s a quick overview of this vital endeavor:
Get clear on your ideal customer or target market; find out where they are so you can communicate with them; get their attention and begin a dialogue; acquire them as a customer; maintain an increasingly satisfying relationship with them; utilize your great relationship with them to expand your business even further.
If this sounds a bit daunting, don’t worry.
I talk about marketing and ALL that it entails with great strategies and resources for you on a regular basis in The Creative Business Advisor newsletter.
03 – Your Environment
Surrounding yourself with a supportive environment is crucial to your success as a creative entrepreneur. And what do I mean by “environment?”
It includes your physical environment: WHAT you surround yourself with in your home, office and lifestyle. It’s also your intellectual environment: WHO you surround yourself with on a regular basis and the influence you allow (or don’t allow) into your life.
The physical environment you live and work in and the expectations of your peer group can have a profound influence on what you’re able to achieve in life. Don’t underestimate this component of your success. I’ll support you regularly on great ways to optimize your environment in The Creative Business Advisor newsletter.
04 – Business Practices
Great business practices are the life blood that keep your business alive and well. They’re the foundation of all the other activities you engage in. And what are business practices? They’re the methodology and consistent procedures you follow to keep your business running.
Let me give you some examples of these essential activities:
Time management, bookkeeping, productivity, technology updates and upgrades, organization, contracts and terms of engagement, office hours, team management, masterminding, website and online presence management, customer service procedures, updating your marketing materials, taxes and financial planning, market research. You’ll get frequent tips, ideas and strategies on great business practices in The Creative Business Advisor newsletter.
05 – Mindset & Motivation
If you get these two things dialed in, you can almost forget the other five! If you have a positive mindset and are fully motivated to succeed, it will make everything easier for you. Your positive mindset and your motivated attitude, combined, can make you unstoppable.
The beauty is, a positive, motivated mindset can be developed. You don’t have to be born with it. It’s something that with a little daily focus and attention can be created once you get clear on the qualities you need to adopt.
Here are a few examples of what qualities you’ll need to cultivate:
Tenacity, determination, optimism, enthusiasm, bravery, resilience, self-confidence and faith. I talk about these things a lot in The Creative Business Advisor newsletter.
06 – Self Care
If you’re a creative entrepreneur you’ve probably found many ways to improve your skills and business.
But have you put as much emphasis on nurturing and maintaining the SOURCE of all these creative ideas and hard work? In other words, you? (What I like to call the Mother Ship.)
Taking care of your mental, physical and spiritual self is every bit as important as your business. Without your health and vitality, the rest is meaningless.
Here are some aspects of taking care of the Mother Ship: Restful sleep, recreation, exercise, healthy food, friends and family, music, reading, skin care, hobbies, travel, adventure, relaxation, time in nature, gardening. I give you lots of guidance and advice to assist your self-care in The Creative Business Advisor newsletter.
